What is permanent architectural lighting?
A color-matched aluminum track of individually controlled LED lights, professionally designed and installed along your roofline and architectural lines. The system stays up year-round and is controlled from your phone — warm white for everyday accent lighting, or full color for holidays and special occasions.
Will it look like Christmas lights on my house during the day?
No — that's the core of what makes this system different. The aluminum track is color-matched to your trim and fitted flush along the fascia, with wiring and connections concealed. By day it blends into the architecture; most guests never notice it until it's on.
Is the system really permanent?
Yes. Once installed, it stays up year-round. There's no seasonal hanging or takedown — the system is designed to be a permanent, finished part of your home.
Can the colors be changed?
Yes. Every LED is individually controlled, so from the app you can choose warm white, cool white, or full color, run patterns, and save custom scenes for the occasions you care about.
How is the lighting controlled?
From an app on your phone. You can change colors, adjust brightness, save scenes, and set schedules — including automatic dusk-to-dawn operation.
Is the design customized to my home?
Yes — every system is designed around your specific architecture. We plan which rooflines and features to light, and the track is matched to your home's trim color so the daytime appearance is as clean as the nighttime one.
Do you install it, or is it DIY?
Chicago Permanent Lighting handles the full professional installation — design, mounting, wiring, app setup, and walkthrough. This is a finished installation, not a kit.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are completed in a single day. Larger or more complex properties can take longer — you'll get a clear timeline with your quote.
What areas do you service?
We serve the greater Chicagoland area, including Chicago and the surrounding suburbs across Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, Kane, and McHenry counties. Just outside those areas? Ask — we often travel for the right project.
How much does it cost?
Every system is designed and priced for the specific home — the length of roofline being lit, the complexity of the architecture, and the finish level. Design quotes are free and come with the scope clearly spelled out.
